hehehe..

So what do you get when you put me and a colorful collection of MAC make-up in a room without much to do on a lovely Sunday afternoon?

geeking out

I miss the days when Lola and I would sit on my bed, scroll through Fashion Show slideshows on Style.com.
Geeking out over fashion. I see this as my research, my duty as a fashion design student. So today when I found a designer I have never heard or seen, my excitement was uncontrollable. :)
Erdem Fall 2010

I would die for a pair of those booties.

I love, love, love this.
If' Erdem is old news, you can ignore this but if it isn't then lets enjoy

So at the moment, I am in Whittier, CA. In the span of 30 minutes, I fell in love and found an interesting lecture I'd like to go to. Good day :)

mmm cardigan and hello kitty slippers

I am currently sitting in my Nature's Mistake t-shirt, cutoff shorts, orange cardigan and slippers.

So, I figured I'd post today since I did find some good stuff at the thrift store. I went to Value Village down the street from my pad in Paramount. Sadly, their prices are on the rise. (Not so valuable) I found this amazing bathing suit. Its a little romper! Romper bathing suits! I'm not a fan of showing it all during the summer months, so this would be a cute alternative. Besides, modest bathing suits are coming back!
I dig it!

I also found some old school Lacoste socks, with the label and all! They are a nice shade of burnt orange. Lately, I've been diggin' short boots like these

"Girly Lace Ankle socks" from American Apparel. I love the lace at the top of the sock, it reminds me of being little. Oh, don't you just love clothes that make you feel nostalgic. :) I know I do. Anyway, I'm glad I found another pair of cool socks to wear with these excellent booties.

Moving on....

I was watching Frida last night with Salma Hayek. I love Salma Hayek, I think shes gorgeous but I adore Frida Kahlo. Anyway I was watching and it made me want to grow my hair out and braid it. Then put in huge crazy flowers. I found this dress and I wanted to get it. But my aunt talked me out of it... perhaps a good idea. But anyway it reminded me of Frida and it made me happy.

Love it.
Perhaps not the unibrow, but I'm growing a mustache. No lie..

That's enough out of me! I'm off to watch Snapped and hang out in my Hello Kitty slippers.

yeah, they are pretty great.

After Winter Must Come Spring

Everything is everything
What is meant to be, will be
After winter, must come spring
Change, it comes eventually

I love Lauryn Hill.
This is one of my all time favorite songs. I remember listening when I was always freaking out about everything. I realized that it is okay to worry but not let it consume you. Just take things as they come and remember every bad experience and good experience for that matter has a beginning, middle, and an end.
I am currently trying to figure out how to be a free spirit. Attempting to travel along the road and allow myself to feel my feelings, but not let them take over.

Howdy! I am at my first baseball game, but more importantly I am at a Dodger game! REPPIN LA homie :) I am pretty excited as usual :)

Teeeeeeeshirts.

I love t-shirts. I think you can be the most stylish lady in the planet while wearing only jeans, a t-shirt, and Chucks. The definition of style to me is being able to add your own flair to every single article of clothing you have. Everything you're wearing is a direct reflection of who you are and how you want to be perceived. These items do not make you or your image but they assist in you projecting yourself in our big beautiful world.
Its all about the little details and special touches you add to your clothes.

This article inspired me. Valentino's essence in a basic garment all of us have in our closets.

I hope everyone has a beautiful day.

I am currently at Macy's. My Lita (granny) is having a difficult time deciding on a pair of earrings. I think the mall is an overwelming place.

perfect, perfect, perfect

Yay! Had a successful day at the thrift store today!
Wanna know what I'm diggin at the moment?
SKIRTS!
I have 2 that I have been wearing a lot lately but I've been itching for more. So, today I was on a mission to find some fun skirts and I did!
I found this AMAZING paisley brocade, grey and black mini skirt.

Then, I found this cute little tennis styled, pleated skirt. Its 100% polyester so it might be a little warm for the summer but its flowy and I'm sure I'll get a nice breeze. lol :) The print on the skirt is interesting, it reminds me of the greek key, which is cool. I think it adds a nice historical touch to a classic design.
okay so couldn't up load the photo of the skirt I bought, BUT I will post it once I wear it. :))

So those are some of the things I purchased. These are some of the things that really got me thinking!

I really liked these booties. I love love love the detail on the upper part of the shoe. I'm pretty sure these were faux leather but! the texture added to the leather would fool anyone. Not only does the texture add something interesting to the shoe which would complement any outfit. The color of the boots is nice! I love different colored boots and I think they are definitely something to keep in mind when shopping for a new pair of boots. :)

Okay, can I please have a moment to freak out about the collar.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I inspected the construction of the collar and it was actually 3 separate pieces. What was even better was that it was not bulky. I really think this is going to a be big, big, big trend. Shaped collars with multiple pieces creating one entity.
:D!

So I'm looking at the jewelry case, checking out the porcelain cat statues (hehe) and I see a whole little set of tie clips! Don't even get me started, I wish all young men dressed like Don Draper ::swoon::
anywho, I saw this and FREAKED out. Its a rifle tie clip. I love it. I have a feeling tie clips are going to be coming back soon especially with unexpected decor like this one. Hey, I'd wear it, a cardigan clip would be excellent!

So that was my adventure for today. Oh! Oh! and I wore the dress I made a post about today!
yay! it was super comfy and it had pockets! What lady doesn't love a dress with pockets. :)

I'm at the South Street thrift store looking for some goodies. I will have many many pictures to post today :) and commentary :)

Lets change that mood little lady!

My eyes are so bleary
I guess I'm young but I feel so weary
I tried to express it
But I think it's all a bore
It's at the heart of me

I'm sitting at the kitchen table listening to the rain and I can't help but feel a little sad.
The gloomy days are usually hit or miss for me.
I figured I'd post something that makes me happy.
GLITTER.

A wise lady once told me what a wise man once told her "God don't make shit! He makes glitter" or something along those lines.

So here goes.

Glitter always makes me happy. These are my ode to Michael Jackson in the "Rock With You" music video

So I'm off and the rest of the night I will rockin' the night away just like Mike :)

I'm a carpetbagger baby.

oh, Marc by Marc Jacobs
I dig this

So, last night someone informed me about the origin of my bag. It got my mind going and I was thinking about brocades, bags and that great Jenny Lewis song, "Carpetbaggers"
I was thinking about what I have in my bag and how important my purse is. I have everything in there.
I need to go to the DMV today, I am very, very excited.....(Not)
But I'm guessing I will get a chance to read my book. I am currently reading "On the Road" by Mr. Jack Kerouac.

I found this photo of Marc Jacobs putting his own spin on brocades and plaids.. yes, please!
I love Marc Jacobs.
I'm still getting used to this whole blogging thing.

Discovery!

So, I recently moved into my Uncle's place in Long Beach. Boy, did I have a lot of stuff.. and guess what! They had a lot of stuff too.
My aunt and I are avid thrift store shoppers, so we have quite the collection of one of a kinds. Today, we had the exciting task of getting rid of a lot of junk. Sorting through many "interesting" finds, I found some AMAZING stuff.
like this!

its a cute little rayon, short sleeve, double breasted button up dress.
I'll post pictures of the outfit soon enough! Excited to wear it!

Who, What, Where, and Why

Who-
A 20 year old little lady who is in love with love, flowers, and enjoys late-night infomercials
What-
Something where I can post what I like, love, and makes me incredibly happy.
Where-
Well, that's a silly question, here on our beautiful planet! Specifically writing from Sunny So Cal.
Why-
Because there are some things I come across and say hey, I love this. I think developing a personal style is discovered by coming across garments and seeing yourself woven into the fibers. This is my adventure in Los Angeles and the surrounding area.
:D
